ABOUT
HOPE VAN VLIET
Hope Van Vliet holds a BA in music and a certificate in Public Relations from the University of Regina. She is currently based in Regina, Saskatchewan. Working at the intersection of creation, analysis, and production, her practice is grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and a deep respect for the mechanics that make theatre work, from the rehearsal room to the booth.
Currently completing a BFA in Devised Theatre at the University of Regina, Hope’s works spans producing, stage management, technical theatre, and devising. She has trained across disciplines including dramaturgy, technical design, intimacy direction, and music performance, allowing her to approach projects with both creative ambition and practical clarity. Her interests often circle themes of memory, technology, gender, and collective identity, drawing inspiration from classical forms, contemporary theory, and lived experience.
Her academic research focuses on community theatre and socially engaged performance through the Centre for Socially Engaged Theatre at the University of Regina, where she explores theatre as a tool for connection, accessibility, and civic dialogue. This research directly informs her creative and producing practices, reinforcing a commitment to work that is both artistically rigorous and socially responsive.
Beyond her artistic practice, Hope is an active arts leader and advocate. She has served as a producer with Regina Little Theatre, and works as a house technician and stage manager with Souris Valley Theatre.
Whether developing new work, supporting collaborators, or asking difficult questions about why we tell the stories we do, Hope is committed to theatre that is thoughtful, rigorous, and human.
